KARTEL REMANDED UNTIL 27TH APRIL - LAWYERS DEMAND EVIDENCE


Defence attorneys for Dancehall entertainer Adidjah Palmer  more popularly known as Vybz Kartel say they have not been furnished with the video evidence allegedly linking him to the murder of a man in St Andrew last year.
Lead attorney Valerie Neita Robertson filed the complaints on Friday April 13 when the case against was mentioned before the Home Circuit Court.
She said the police have failed to supply the defence with the so-called video material showing the artiste committing murder even thought they’ve been asking for the material since November last year.
The attorney also argued that the defence is still awaiting the forensic material.
The residing judge gave the police and prosecution until April 23 to supply the material.
The local police are reportedly getting help from the US FBI to put together the material.
A date for a bail hearing is set for April 27.
Vybz Kartel is charged jointly with members of his Gaza Empire for the murder of Clive Williams, otherwise called Lizard.
It's alleged that on August 16, last year, Mr. Williams was taken to a house in Havendale, St Andrew, where he was beaten and stabbed to death.
The cops reported that they seized a cellular phone used to record the killing.            
The others accused are deejay, Shawn Campbell, also known as "Shawn Storm"; fashion designer Calvin Haye, also known as "Moonie"; Cayro Jones, Sean Williams and Andre St John
