ZIMBABWEAN MODEL Model Nyasha Matonhodze covers Vogue magazine

ZIMBABWEAN model Nyasha Matonhodze continues to scale the heights on the international fashion scene after landing her very own cover of the British Vogue magazine.
The 17-year-old fronts the “More Dash Than Cash” Supplement in the May 2012 issue of the world’s most influential fashion and lifestyle magazine.
In an all-Africa lockdown, South African actress Charlize Theron is gracing the front cover of the May issue wearing a beautiful turquoise Versace gown.
The fashion blogger Makho Ndlovu says being on the cover of vogue is a “big deal”.
She said: “It made my heart leap. In the words of Joe Biden, this is big f**king deal!
“She looks fabulous. How many women of colour have been on the cover of Vogue? I could probably count them on one hand.”
It has been a frantic year for Nyasha who burst on the scene in May last year as a surprise star of the French fashion label Louis Vuitton’s 2011 autumn/winter campaign.
Since then, she has appeared on the cover of the UK magazine Love and shot spreads for Harper's Bazaar, Teen Vogue, and V magazine.
She also drew attention at the New York Fashion Week where she was cast and eventually appeared in Joseph Altuzarra’s Fall 2012 runway show.
Nyasha was born in Zimbabwe and raised by her grandmother before moving to England aged eight.
At 14, her mum and stepdad got her signed with London agency, Elite Models, setting her on the path to international stardom.
